Hi there!
For a few weeks now, the project has been slow on dev., with no new releases, nor new features and the reason is pretty simple.
When developing a game single handed, being a one-man-project, you MUST step off a couple of times and “let the project breathe”.
If you work with a team, people most likely will have different opinions about the game and also a different point of view.
So, when creating a game by your self (programming, game art, game mechanics, and so on), you will probably lose yourself in the creation process, working endlessly to achieve your initial goals.
By “letting the project breathe”, I kind of disconnect from the game making, and enjoyed the game as a player. That allowed me to think about how to improve some concepts and created new dynamics that can make the game more fun and also add some depth.
So, if you follow this game, of if you like playing it, be assured that I still working to finish it.
And now, to the news features that will probably be added during this weekend:
1 - Resized models
All models (except player, and a few others) will be resized, reducing their size. This concept was not test yet.
Enemy models will be reduced to 65-80% of actual size, depending on the enemy.
Boss types will be reduced to 80-90% of actual size.
Player and enemy projectiles will also be reduced to 70-80% of the actual size.
2 - New levels!
The current release features levels from 1-1 to 1-7, the new levels will be added to the second phase, 2-1 to 2-7.
3 - New enemies, obstacles and bosses!
The new level will feature new obstacles, new enemies and new bosses.
This feature will be done as before, each release will bring a new boss a new enemies, that will spawn differently in each level.
No Boss, nor enemy, from phase 1-X will appear in phase 2-X.
4 - Sound improvement
There are some minor sound effects that need to placed in the current release, to improve the gaming experience.
5 - Minor animation improvement
Some animations, from current enemies and bosses, will be improved.
So, there’s a lot to do.
Once levels for 2-X phase are done, I will move to 3-X, which will be the final phase (or that’s the idea).
Hope you’re enjoying the game so far! Have fun!
