Developer diary II: Making progress

Hi again, whoever is reading this.

Since my last post I’ve been working on different stuff. First of all, I’ve made a menu for the game and an instructions screen, and an end of game screen too. I think this was much needed for the game to actually feel like something complete, and not some random screen with stuff moving on it.

In addition to the menus stuff, I’ve added a type of enemy (well, more of a mine that explodes when touch actually) and a new power-up that slows the enemies a lot and then they recover they original speed over time.

I’ve been testing it and I think the gameplay is almost complete, at least for the first release version, since I plan on introducing changes after release if I have enough feedback and/or good suggestions. I still want to change the graphics, but it’s very likely that I’ll upload a first version of the game during the next week because I want to start working with the highscores and trophys, and I think that to test that the game needs to be uploaded.

Anyway, I’ve made a “short” (20 something seconds, 2,3 mb or so) gif to show you the game in movement, and also the menu and instructions screen.

The player follows the mouse, so if the movement looks funky sometimes it’s because of me, not because of the implementation xD

P.S: I just noticed the after game screen doesn’t show in the gif. There’s a screenshot:

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

#screenshotsaturday

Here's a peaceful little forest scene for this #screenshotsaturday, from the beginning of the game.

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.

Terraria

An infected room from the second part of Cybel ! Are you up for some cleansing?

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.

Made my first ever animation.
