After reading @DevyGames's post about remaking FHD, I decided to become a temporary philosoph.
Also, don't get these things seriously if I'm talking about something bad (in your opinion), or else you'll taste pingas ;)
Well, basically, every .exe game developer possess his game as something new, like a masterpiece which has never been created by humanity. I do not deny that it can get hyped over time, like #SOH or #NB for example, I'm saying that almost every .exe game is same!
I see a lot of sense to remake the game as you want, but at least use something that is common with horror or fantasy.
You may ask me:
Q: if you're talking things like that, why don't you try it either?
A: I don't want to hear things like that. I already tried to do something like that (Spirit;Warriors project) and it's still making. Besides of main game story it has its own ecosystem, like game and script updates and etc.
E: that doesn't prove anything! you didn't make any release of the game!
A: Soon the game (and API) code would be on GitHub, so you will be able to download the installer.
Alright, back to the subject...
The entire story would be different now.
Let's discuss that. How different it should be from the original one?
First of, in every .exe game, the story comes through Sonic, it's Exe[insert your original name here], he kills everyone (or everyone survives), then round 2, and that's it. That the basically what every .exe-maker does.
Why don't you want to just make it different?
Q: your game has the same concept, stop saying nonsense
A: It's not, that's first thing. Second, at least one or two characters must be slightly different than original ones. I mean...
Let's see...
In #NB and #CN, every character can travel through the timeline he/she is on right now.
In #SOH none of the can't (except for Exeller) but their stories are given in a strangely different variant.
In #SW_wd the Mad Scientist uses Time Machine (TM) for slight travelling through the worldlines (timelines on other games) and timelines (time rewind or wind-up)
So, that's it for now...
I was trying to say my own opinion as a developer, and luckily I said everything I wanted to say in this post. Also, yeah...
Message for Devy:
Good luck with your remake, I'll be looking forward to your work... Don't let us down...
