Devlog 01 (15.03.2022)

Greetings, fellow followers!

I've shared with you wallpapers, renders of the map, posters, and just a bunch of material. But, I think I've kept everything related to development a secret. It should be that way of course, I don't want to spoil you so much, I want you to enjoy everything the game has to offer by experiencing it yourselves. Of course, I think it's fair if I show you a small fraction of what's done, and what will be done.

~UPDATED U.I~

I must say, the night's UI always seemed so simple, empty and boring. In the end, I couldn't feel comfortable with it anymore, it's just too outdated. So, below you have a comparison between the old user interface, and a concept of what the new one will look like.

~NIGHT SHIFT~

The game's main programmer @Michael_Diaz_ (Who by the way, you should really support, he's got some amazing stuff in the works) has been a little busy with his own project, which looks fantastic so far, so there has been work done on TNAL lately, but not a LOT of work done (Not that I know at least, Michael tends to be silent about certain things even to me, his friend lmao). I can assure you, there is still no animatronic A.I done, though that's also mainly because there's plenty of renders yet to be made (It won't take long, it's just I've been a little busy with school). Jumpscares are 100% finished.
The cameras are working fine, both the CCTV system damage and fixing have been implemented (And it is only a matter of time for the rest of the systems to be worked on/polished).

A fantastic addition by Michael is a cool and smooth panorama effect. As you can see, the front part doesn't bend when turning to the right.

~PLAYABLE 8 BIT CUTSCENES~

I'm mainly in charge of making this part of the game, the thing is that 8 bit cutscenes (Or minigames, as you like to call them) were 100% completed, until of course I did some re-writing and had to remake most of them from scratch, half of the minigames are still there, while the other half has been removed to be replaced by new cutscenes.

~ANSWERING BEFORE YOU ASK~

Now, allow me to make clear some things before some of you ask, it tends to happen, so to avoid those questions I'll just tell you what's featured and what's not.

Will the game have after-night repairing/maintenance segments?

The answer is no. Reasons are simple, this fan game tries to be loyal to the first 3 FNAF games and those type of segments not only make the game unnecessarily longer, but they're also non sense. You're playing as a 17 year old night guard, just that, why would a teenager guard take care of fixing or doing maintenance to the animatronics? A guard's job is to keep an eye on the place and keep it safe, leave the repairs to the engineers. By the way, I'm definitely not a fan of those kinds of levels.

Will the game be free roam?

No, you're not playing a Unity/UE4 game and neither are you playing TRTF 5. And I must repeat, the game tries to be loyal to the original FNAF games.

Will you release the models and assets after you release the game?

Alright alright, this is just a question some not so smart child would do. And the answer is obviously NO.

Do FNAF characters appear or are mentioned in the game?

Only two human characters, and trust me, they're not any relevant to the story and they've been re-written to be parodic interpretations of their original counterparts.

Does the game take inspiration from other fan games?

I'm not a fan game consumer, no sir, almost all of them don't get my attention. The only fan game this one took visual inspiration from is FNAF Plus and that's pretty much it.

When will you release a demo?

First of all, you won't get a demo, there WILL be one, but not for the general public, but for a special minority for testing purposes. Like I said before, don't expect a demo, and the game will come out whenever it has to come out.

Any plans for an Android port?

Of course, the PC version is a priority. After the game comes out, if I feel like working on a mobile port then I'll consider it, if not, then just no.

Are there references to YouTubers or other fan games in the game?

Do I look like an approval seeker? The answer is no.

Well, that's all for today. Once again, thanks for your support and patience.

"Sweet Frances"

I remade a drawing from January, influenced a little by The Walten Files, giving TA's style some in depth detail. I also tried to make Rachel look accurate to the actress she's based on, I'm so proud of this one.
