With the story segments nearly completed, I thought it would be apt to take a step back and go over a bit of my writing process. After all, this is a visual novel first and foremost.
Now obviously I won't go over the entire story behind developing this beast of a project. Not only because it's worthy of its own novel, but also because that in of itself is chock-full of MAJOR spoilers. Anyways...
When writing for FLGY, I always start off with an outline. These outlines are always composed of a full summary of what occurs. Sometimes I'll add in little small things like jokes or exact quotes that I want in the final script (sometimes even these are slightly or heavily tweaked). Of course, then we have gameplay descriptions, which are always in regard to specific things I want occurring in ExplorE and BaF BaF segments. Put simply, the outline is the blueprints for a project, with lots of wiggle room for my own touches. (Note: Depending on the project, the outline may be drastically simpler than this, assuming it's a traditional outline at all. It's all in what exactly I'm working with).
In a story like FLGY, I make sure now to have all my outlines finished first before writing any script. That way I already have something to reference immediately after one script is done, and thus snap to writing (hell, on the side I'm already planning out the plot of VoL. 3).
And there you have it, the bare basics of how I start writing an EpisodE, and by extension a VoL. of FLGY. There is much, MUCH more that goes into it, but that's worthy of its own article. If you read this far, thanks for putting up with my morning ramblings! Stuff like this might help keep you constantly updated as nothing too big happens yet.
For now, Imma get back to work now, ciao!
