(Beautiful art by our amazing @sulfuri )
Hoi! Welcome to Twistedfate's first devlog (and my first time writing one as well)! We've gotten a little bit of work done, and we're all very excited to show you guys! Now, let's get onto the first topic!
Story Writing and dialogue
To get the biggest part of this section out of the way, we have decided to use British English for this game instead of American English, as a big percentage of the team use British English. I'm trying my best to learn the differences in spelling as I live in America and use American English, but I will make mistakes here and there.
So, we've gotten a decent amount of writing done. It was only until recently that I got a new writer to help me (which I am VERY glad for as it is hard to write stuff for a game by yourself-), so we have about twenty nine pages total, and about five of those pages are Ruins dialogue and room descriptions. The new writer, @SSAngel , wrote about a page and a half of flavour text and dialogue for random enemy encounters in the Ruins, so writing is defiantly going by a lot quicker now. Here are a few pieces of dialogue and stuff we have written.
Sprites
We have quite a few spriters, but I haven't been able to assign too much stuff as I need to make concepts for the characters. I have most of the main cast for Ruins' designs sketched on paper or in my head, but I need to make better references. I also need to finish a simple layout of the Ruins' rooms and all that. We do, however, have a few sprites finished. Those include Alissa's walk sprites and the normal Ruins portion tileset excluding the pathway tiles, as well as a concept sprite for Toby, so I'll show y'all those now!
Music and Code
So, we do have two musicians, but we haven't made any music concepts yet, mostly because I've forgotten to ask or they have been busy, but this is a passion project with no due dates so I'm not worrying about that too much.
I have been trying to learn how to code, but I have been busy, so I haven't really put much time into it. Massive thanks to
for helping me out with my questions!
That's all that I can think of to write a devlog about for now. Thank you to all of the people who support us! I don't know when the next devlog will come out, but hopefully sometime before summer. Thank you do much for reading!
