What Is FrostByte
The objective of this game is to survive from the elements from an incoming Ice Age. Manage the temperature, wind, fuel and electrical grids and limited resources.
Buildup a small town and prepare for the unforgiving cold of mothers nature wrath.
Features & Mechanics
Days:
The game will feature a day count with each day becoming colder and colder. You will have a limited amount of time to build and gather resources each day. The more people you have in your town, the more you can do in a day. But be careful when you expand, it may prove some difficulties.
Random Events:
Throughout the game play, the player will be faced with weather events. Some of these include; extreme winds, blizzards, geostorms (damages your electricity grid), etc.
Crafting & Research:
All buildings, technologies and other item are made from crafting resources found around the map. Some buildings or technologies will be locked until you have researched them. Researching requires time and electricity. There will be a research menu where you can choose which schematics you want to unlock. You will be able to find schematics when exploring the world.
Road Map
We are currently working mainly on the base mechanics and some sprites with most of them being place holders. We are planning of releasing the game as Early Access on Steam or other online retailers. There will be a playable Pre Alpha version released on GameJolt. The Pre Alpha estimated release date is sometime in Nov 2019.
