DEVLOG 1: Intro To Distropia

Distropia came about when some one asked me, “What if there was an rpg where all of the heroes were lame stuff like crazy cat ladies and street magicians?”
There are sadly neither crazy cat ladies nor street magicians, but there are plenty of other ‘average’ people to join your team such as a clown, a janitor, and a cowboy.
The setting is modern but there are plenty of fantasy elements which get introduced when fantastical monsters mysteriously invade the main characters town.
In Distropia, you’ll travel to different Realms via portals to figure out what’s going on and how to stop it.

What to expect from the demo?

Play through the first area.
Get your first 3 party members.
Get a feel for the shard system (our take on equipment)

What not to expect?

A perfectly polished game.

I hope you enjoy the demo, though I would also like to add a caveat that this is still very much a work in progress, especially when it comes to the audio. There IS music, but most of it has been ripped from old projects and will likely not be in the final product.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Today I tackled drawing different variations of facial expressions for one of the main characters in Eden. What do you think of it? :) Eden: https://gamejolt.com/games/Eden/592698

Levels' maps.

not the greatest house, but it's a house! :D

I made a small jungle house.

It's now possible to destroy some of the obstacles and gain access to new locations or create shortcuts. #gamedev #indiegame #rpg
