Yo, it's been a lil while since I posted the first teaser for this game, and since development on a playable demo will be finishing up in a few weeks, I thought I'd talk about what Overnight: Chiitan is about.

If you haven't been following Twitter for the past few months, Chiitan is an account that you'll usually find among all the ads for crypto slop and NFTs. They have no products to market; they are simply there to cleanse your timeline of all the low-effort advertisements that you often get on Twitter. And during the last few months, this stupid Japanese mascot has developed a cult following solely because they are the only good advertiser on the platform (and also because they're funny and wholesome).

I've wanted to make a game about Chiitan for some time now, but it wasn't until the end of September that I actually started working on it. I originally planned to release a demo on Halloween, but I quickly realized that it wasn't feasible (for me at least). Nonetheless, I made a lot of progress on the game during October, and around the middle of November, I took a "short" break from working on it because end-of-year exams were kicking my ass around that time. But now I'm back to working on the game, and ideally I'd like to have a demo out within the next two weeks, followed by a full game by the end of February, preferably in January, depending on how long programming and sound design take; I have a habit of spending way too much time on both.

In terms of gameplay, I'm not going to say anything until the demo drops because I don't want to spoil anything, but all of the concepts are complete, and I'm just working on programming everything and balancing the AI. Also, because it's a joke game, I don't really have a focus on the story; I want to put some effort into it, but not too much; I'll keep that for a serious project.
