Howdy Underbrothers, GameSprites writing,
@AngerLuigi
and I have been working further and diligently on the project at our own pace during April and the first half of May, and I can happily attest that the progress I'll showcase is greater than what was showcased last log. This time, the progress on coding and script areas are somewhat on par with the progress on the last few assets of the animation. As such, no heavy emphasis on one subject today is found.
TL;DR:
A "first boot" sequence has been added, inspired by the end of Chapter 1.
The intro has been faithfully recreated.
Variations of the intro were made, with dialogues varying depending on the number of deaths.
A system of songs replacement is in work-in-progress, inspired by @AngerLuigi
's requests.Kindness, Integrity and Perseverance's attacks have all of their sprites ripped, courtesy of AngerLuigi.
Every human soul has been ripped, thanks to AngerLuigi and I.
The script has been touched to feature extra dialogues, such as Game Over lines, intro lines and acts.
The Options, Credits sequence and Game Over are conceptualized.
ASSETS:
Let's start things off with the roster of newly ripped assets from the animation.
ATTACKS:
As a refresher, last devlog, AngerLuigi ripped three of the six souls' attacks sprites, those being Bravery, Patience and Justice, while the three others were slowly, but surely coming to life. This goes without saying that towards end-April, Kindness, Integrity and Perseverance's attacks joined the list and are now ready to be used.

As stated by AngerLuigi:
i hated doing the book sprites, it was pain
This confirms that the sprite rips were just as peaceful and relaxing to him as always. A round of applause for the efforts made to painstakingly recreate each attack that I'll soon have to code in.
SOULS:
On April 2nd, we were far from having any human soul pixel art done due to AngerLuigi's focus on the attacks sprites and mine on the script and code. A month later, AngerLuigi came out of the blue with a spritesheet of the human form of Kindness, Integrity, and Justice, in their shiny glory.

As for my end... I've just attacked recently Bravery's blocking sprite... and still have the other two souls to do. To say that AngerLuigi is fast is an understatement.
MISCELLANEOUS:
This section will be shorter, but:
a Game Over concept has been done by yours truly, inspired by Superstar Saga.

Additionally, the "Thank you for reading" little GIF I've made for the page was updated by AngerLuigi, with edits on my end. It will soon appear on the page.
A Credits sequence was imagined, and this is the only concept you'll be getting.

Zaiyo's sprites are ripped. Don't ask who that is.

CODING:
Unlike last time's quite... dry showcase, I can proudly show that I've actually made some decent progress.
BATTLE INTRO:
This time around, the battle's coding went further than Mario staring pensively at his wound: the intro has been nearly recreated, with just the lack of a sound effect to be played. Check it out below:
... Why is Strength of Will playing now? We're not far in the battle yet.
CUSTOMISABLE INTRO:
For context, when sending me his work, AngerLuigi personally requested a song to be added because he prefers Tears in the Revolution than Tears in the Rain. Originally, it was supposed to be limited with the ability to choose either the two aforementioned songs, or Strength of Will as phase 1 and/or 2's song. The reason why I changed this idea was thanks to AngerLuigi's preference of a cover of Strength of Will over Kibo's, which made me realize that other people would wish that a song would be in the fangame. As such, I'll be working on a system that allows a player to easily add a song to the game, without replacing one of the songs. This will let players do intros and fights like this!
This is what one of the files look like:

Of course, the goal isn't for the players to mash random numbers and hopefully guess the intro sequence right, but rather have a scene that helps placing at the right location every effect.
FIRST BOOT:
Have you watched any of UNDERBROS's animations? If so, did you watch the first chapter? You may recall the full reset Frisk and Chara do towards the end of the animation: this is what inspired me to use it as the frame when first booting the game.

Except for sound effects missing and the fact you can't yet input a name, it is entirely complete. Once the first boot has been completed, this will be simply replaced by the Annoying Dog sleeping for the remainder of the time you play this fangame, unless you delete the save file.
SCRIPT:
As I said before, the script concerning the original animation was done way before this page existed, however I've always had plans to include extra content and dialogue for fun, and as a mean for GameJolt trophies. Not only did I get a handful of death dialogues referencing immensely the Mario universe, as you can peek here...

... but AngerLuigi joined in to create his interpretations to the death lines, as you can see here!

Of course, we're far from done here. We still have to imagine what would happen if Frisk mocks Mario, the other unused items in the animation, trying to spare Mario, etc... We hope that by the next devlog, we'd be over half done with the script
With that, here comes the end to our second devlog. The progress was slow as anticipated on my end as expected, but tremendously quick by AngerLuigi. I cannot thank you enough for 20+ followers: this is amazing!
