Hello Everyone,
Today we are back with another round of info about content at launch. Like we said last time, we want to make sure you all know what you’re getting when you download the game on November 16th.
Launch
Combat System
At launch, there will be a fully fleshed-out combat system in place. We expect it to be changed over time with community feedback. Combat in Final Days Alive consists of 3 main elements: HandtoHand, Guns, and Heavy.
HandtoHand - HandtoHand is the generic fist fighting, swords, axes, etc. This will be the player’s main source of combat until they acquire a gun.
Guns - We have completely remade our old gun system (from previous tests) and feel that this is our best yet. Guns are not meant to be the highlight of the game and we made sure to keep it that way. Guns spawn scarcely around each map. We will talk further in the log about where players can find some.
Heavy - Heavy combat consists of Artillery, Canons, Tanks, etc. This is the rarest form of combat. Tanks spawn around the map but must be repaired (side-quest).
Abandoned Bases
Around each map, there is an abandoned base. These bases will be the players best bet at acquiring guns, and heavies. Players will be unable to build bases on these bases. If a player decides to build a base, it won’t be long until raiders attack with full force.
Stores - Images Coming Soon
Stores are in some towns on certain maps. They consist of 5 NPCs: Food Market, Hardware Market, Gun Market, Clothing Market, and Police Department. Each store will sell items with them refreshing every 5 hours. These stores will have side missions available for you to make money and get free supplies. Beware, after the nuke drops, there will be no more stores.
Enemies
In Final Days Alive, you are never safe. At launch, there will be 4 main types of enemies: Raiders, Thugs, The Returned Coalition, and The Army. These 4 types come with different difficulty and skills. The army is the most difficult. After the nuke drops, and if you survive, more types of enemies appear such as Mutant soldiers, Mutant Thugs, Mutants, and Rhigorg. Good Luck.
We will be having another devlog next week talking about more features.
