I dunno how to use this new devlog format thingy but I think I can manage.
First things first-I’ve updated Macaron Magic, fixing some bugs with checkpoints and correcting some colors so that bullets are more visible! You can check it out over here: https://gamejolt.com/games/macaronmagic/365098
Secondly, here’s the more interesting stuff! I added a pushing animation for Grey in order for him to look more natural when backed up into a wall, rather than just staring at it.
Along with that, some minor adjustments have been made to how weapon energy is collected. Rather than coming in the form of differently colored gems, it appears in small specifically colored orbs like these, and has a lower chance of dropping from enemies than gems do.
In terms of planning, NPCs will play a more prominent role in the game from here on out. While they don’t appear often before Grey exits stage 3, here’s a little preview of one that is featured in Aqua Rocket!
In future stages, there’ll be a village or two, and a variety of characters that can help you along your journey. Some might be featured in the next log!
Lastly…finally I’ve started work on Yolanda! Her base patterns are complete and she can be beaten, marking the end of the first frame of Aqua Rocket! However, her attack animations are a bit, well…they’re not quite finished. But here’s a look anyway! Hopefully next time I can share some footage when graphics are done.
