DEVLOG 4: Various Updates To Shards & Skills

Older versions of the game had a basic, single target, version of elemental spells and then a separate spell you had to learn to hit all enemies. That was cool in the 80s, but we strive to at least be in the late 90s when it comes to game quality. So those skills have been merged and all you have to do is hit left or right when targeting an enemy and it'll toggle between single target and multi hit.

In addition, we've made it so equipping certain elemental shards give you resistance to that element as shown below. Since you often get shards in areas where enemies of that same element abound, this should make new shards immediately useful to the area you're at. It also allows for a little more in the way of creating custom builds depending on what kinds of enemies you're going to be facing.

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

Showing off player 2 😎

What do you think?

Spaaaace~

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)
