We are happy to announce that FrostByte has now been under development for two months! In this devlog, we will share you what we have completed in the last couple of weeks and our plan for the next few weeks.
What Have We Completed In October?
The Power System: You can now create circuits and manage them with ease. Click and drag to either add or remove cables from any circuits.
Tooltips: We have created a tooltip for items and circuits, giving you important data on each systems. Example: Tooltips for circuits tells you how much power is being produced, how much power is needed, how much power is stored in the batteries, and more.
Wind Turbines: Generate Power with wind. The stronger the wind is the more power you generate.
Coal Generators: Generate power by burning coal
New UI & Menu for overlays
Resources now have a certain mass: Meaning you will receive multiple of that resource when you collect it. Example: If you are mining a coal ore with a mass of 200kg, you will get two coal chunks of 100kg for either crafting or fuel. \/ \/ \/ \/
FrostByte is only at the early stages of a Pre Alpha, so there is still a ton of work to be done.
Basic Colony Survival: Our next step is adding the elements of controlling a colony. This means you will be managing how much your colony grows, the supplies its needs like food, water and shelter and giving them warmth from the frigid weather of the Polar Vortexes.
Research: You will be in task to select different resources to research. This will give you new technology in order for you to survive.
Construction Time: Building anything will require time, this is why time management is be crucial for building a base before the cold sets in.
Thank you for you support! Make sure to follow us and FrostByte to keep track of its development.
We are hoping of releasing a playable demo (of pre alpha) before 2020.
Have a good day!
