Devlog | Acts and Demo Info


Hey everyone,

I know It's been a while since the last devlog. 1 month, right? Yeah, way too long. But this wasn't without reason... I've made some really big changes to the game and, until now, I couldn't figure out how to put it into words properly.

In this devlog, I will disguss some MAJOR changes to gameplay, and correct some of the things I've said in the "Things to expect in a future demo..." Devlog.

So let's talk about the first thing,
Acts:

In short:

The game will be cut into several acts. Each act will feature one new area to explore. In the demo, the complete first act and a small part of the 2nd act will be playable.

In detail:

I have decided to cut the game up into several acts. Why? Because it makes it easier to focus on certain features more during development, and because I thought it would be an interesting change of gameplay.

Each act will feature one new unique area, with new quests to accompany it. Near the end of each act, you'll have to fight a boss or do some other unique task.

After each act, there will be a debriefing screen that will run down all of the events from the previous act and transition to the next act.

The complete first act has already been completed and work on the second one has begun. The demo will feature these two acts, but more on that later...

Let me know what you think of the Act system. Feedback and constructive criticism is always welcome!

So, now let's get to correcting some stuff I've said in the
"Things to expect in a future demo..." Devlog.

First, let's look at some points I've made:

"2 out of 8 Explorable Areas"

This is still somewhat true, but due to the implementation of the act system, there will be a third area that will be briefly explorable.

"Store with several items and ability to apply two useful upgrades on your sword"

Here I especially want to focus on the "upgrades" part. Although this is true, there will be more things to upgrade in the demo. You will be able to upgrade the strength of your bombs as well.

"Approximately up to 1 hour of gameplay"

Again, due to the implementation of the act system, and especially because of the main quest of act one, the demo will most likely be longer than 1 hour of playtime.

Those were all the things I've wanted to adress and correct from that devlog. I'm sorry for the lack of updates recently, I've been working hard on getting those said features to completion.

Still alive. Working on the battle engine. WIP

Quick Update: I've been working on some new backgrounds for the Battle Frame! In other news, I am now at a point where there are no new features that need to be added to the demo. There's still a lot of bug fixing and improving to do though. Stay tuned!

I realized I haven't really updated y'all about my games at all in the past few monts. I'm still working hard on FoE and I might have some good news soon. As for Forest.end Illusion, there wasn't much notable progress, but it's getting there. Stay Tuned!

The Demo is Finished | Release Date!

Fighter of Eve recently got its first demo release!

In FoE, you play as an unknown hero, defeating enemies and helping the people, whilst trying to figure out where all the creatures come from.
