i fell asleep
I'd like to be honest right off the bat; not as much progress has been done. Also, the 2021 release window is completely out of our reach. Bummer.
Christmas is coming though! So to end the year on a rather good note, here's what's been done and what's planned.
Core Gameplay - Inventory 2: Unwanted Comeback
Yeah it has to be done. The previous version of the Inventory, while functional, was flawed in multiple ways. Not only was it exploitable in multiplayer very easily, but the items themselves were not convenient to code.
So I decided to convert the Inventory to work in a different way. The main part of it (Picking up, "equipping", reordering items) is finished. As for items behavior, I had looked at it the wrong way in the past, so I'll remake it in a way that makes sense and will be easier for us to take advantage of.
Freddy our beloved.
Few new things about your favorite fat bear:
He keeps eye contact with you to establish dominance.
If you get too close he will assist you by getting as physically close to you as possible the fastest he can <3
Breaker box
no longer exi-will require fuses that are consumed upon use. They can be found around the level.he loves you
Endless Mode - Early Stages
Endless mode is now in early stages of development. The clock is replaced with a timer, and your goal is to survive for as long as you possibly can. As time goes on, Animatronics awaken, and their senses become sharper, less forgiving. In other words, the difficulty progressively increases.
You also get a highscore with default times to beat, as well as an online leaderboard which will definitely not be filled with cheated times (i see you).
When loading in the level, the highscores will be presented to you along with the option to start an endless run. Upon death, your score is saved and you are sent back to the highscores menu, allowing for quick retries.
Endless mode levels are planned to be unlocked by completing their Survival Mode Counterparts.
HANDS. OH MY GOD HANDS.
We're adding viewmodel arms. It's only a question of time until we get our hands on good ones. They will feature animations and should make the experience a lot better.
Attraction of Fire
One of the reasons development on Project Fredbear has been slow is due to Attraction of Fire. It is a small scale game, but it is a little ambitious on some technical aspects. A lot has been done for that game and we are excited to show it all to you. No gameplay details will be shared.
The Gamejolt page for it will be created once development reaches its final stages.
The End.
2021 is coming to an end. We hope you are having awesome holidays in a year that overall wasn't so great.
I doubt monthly devlogs will continue, seeing as none were made in the past 4 months or so. But development will continue, and regardless of how long it takes our lazy bums to finish the game, it will be finished.
That being said,
Merry Christmas to you all and Happy New Year!
