So I’ve been working on the game as much as I can in my spare time which has been pretty close to 4 months now and I’ve been very quiet about it the past month or so. I’m very happy I’m already somewhat close to having a playable build for the first night! However I didn’t really plan out how I wanted the location to look, so that’s been a bit of a problem cause I don’t have a lot of ideas for anything else I want to add so after I release the short demo for the first night I will most likely completely redo the entire map for the better.

The Bad news: (kind of)
So I was in my first ever real relationship recently so I was really happy for the first time in a while but I sadly just had to end it a few days ago because she was extremely toxic to me and did a lot of other horrible things that I didn’t even know about for months upon months I won’t go into detail about it. But it was absolutely evil to do to anyone and it took me way longer than it should have to realize the toxicity of everything. So it’s been a lot harder to cope with the thought of being alone again for the first time in over 7 months and getting used to it again than I thought it would be. So I haven’t worked on the game in a couple of weeks because I knew it would come to this and I really wasn’t ready for it. But I do plan to start working on it again as soon as i can because already feel a positive difference in my mood today. (I haven’t really decided if I want to take a break or not from the internet.)
The Good news:
To distract myself from all of this going on in my life I’m going to try to start uploading different content on YouTube again very soon so I feel like my life can have somewhat of a purpose again and so I can finally look forward to something I like doing once more.
I also want to start a side project that is completely non canon to this game but it will mostly have the same types of animatronics but just a completely different setting and type of fear inducing things.
I’m pretty excited to start working on that soon too alongside this.
Another idea I have:
i have another idea for a game mechanic I haven’t implemented yet that's pretty much a death sentence if it happens but I’m still pretty new to unreal engine and I don’t know exactly how I would do it but I have learned a few things lately that have been really helpful. it will involve a secret animatronic hidden somewhere and the event will be rare.
I’m not exactly sure how I want it to trigger but when it does happen you will know it and the night will get a lot harder cause it is the fastest and biggest animatronic. (Besides Fredbear)
Here’s a list of things I’ve already finished or I’m currently working on.
Camera system (Work in progress but still fully functional with minor bugs)
Retexturing a lot of things that just look weird (like Springfoxy’s horrible looking curtains for example)
Fredbear’s AI (95% complete and is active on night 1)
Springfoxy’s AI (40% complete and will be on night 2)
Working Extras menu (Has development screenshots, Animatronic viewing, Jumpscares, and a secret game mode planned and other things)
Jumpscares are fully working
Making it so the animatronics look at you when they chase you
Working on adding eerie sounds that play randomly
Made it so you die if you try to get on the stage with the animatronics
Added a short cutscene for the first night
Made a decent game over screen
Adding more props to the office and around the map
Making random triggers around the map so some spooky things will happen I guess
Adding some dumb Easter eggs lol
Optimizing the game as much as I possibly can (it runs at 20 to 40 fps on my RTX 4050..)
And that’s it for now I guess.
Future of my YouTube channel:
I haven’t used my channel for anything in a while but I feel like it would be cool if I could upload development progress videos on there occasionally and maybe even some gaming content (with face cam)
Planned release date for night one demo?:
Judging by how things are going I’d say sometime in late early to late April, but that’s just an estimate.
planning to start doing these devlogs monthly now so look out for that if you’re interested I guess.
