Hey all, it's been quite a while.
For well over an entire week, I had a pretty nasty boil that appeared on my belly. I was in a LOT of pain and I ended up needing to have it get cut open. It was probably the most pain I have ever been in inside my entire life lmao. Had I not done that, I'd probably be very sick by now. The good news is that I'm nearly done recovering and feeling pretty nice as of lately! No more pain, just gotta take care of the darn thing so it can heal (and make sure it doesn't come back lmao).
Very new thing for me. 10/10 worst shit I've been through never wanna go through it again.
That unfortunately threw a massive wrench into my projects and their progress, but development on The Awakening had already been slow because of burnout. At this point I seriously doubt this game is coming out this month, but maybe and hopefully in May.
The very good news is that I think I've figured out what's been slowing me down with working on this game. I'm making a little change of plans that both makes it easier for myself, and also keeps things more interesting in the game!
A long while back I made a poll asking if people would prefer the game to take you back to the main menu or to the next night after beating one. Some suggested an option to choose, which I thought was a great idea. I'm not exactly sure if I'm going to add this in anymore because honestly this game's code is so old and messy that I'm nervous about breaking anything lmao. So it may just be like how Phobia does it, but it's not 100% set in stone just yet.
And as of right now, all I have left to do is three major things, a handful of smaller things, then I need to connect all the strings and dots and then polish the absolute hell out of this game, because man a LOT of details are still missing in tons of spots right now. It sounds like so little (and honestly it is!) but these things do take a lot of time. I think you'll really like what I've done for this game. :)
Once the game is ready to go, it'll have about a week long testing phase so I can ensure everything is going right and can fix it before release. This will be done by a handful of (already selected) users, including myself and @the_Wolfdog .
So yes, we are getting much closer! I appreciate your patience so dearly and I'm very thankful for it all. This game is far from perfect, but it is still made with love and time, and I'm trying my best to ensure it has a smooth release.
