Devlog No. 2 Further Progress


Hello Everyone! It’s been a while since I posted anything.. I apologize for such a long delay. I had some personal and technical issues. First, my laptop died, I lost some valuable material, and when I bought a new one, everything looked different on it, I was messing around a lot with the new monitor, trying to calibrate colors, get closer to my old settings, eventually I managed to get a tolerable result, but it’s still too bright in comparison to my old laptop..
Here is a rough sketch, to explain visually what has happened:

The main problem is that I feel paranoid not knowing what my game looks like on different monitors, which means that I’m making it blindly. To some it will look messy, everything blends together too much, while I will see completely different results.. But there is no way back from this, I will have to move forward with what is left.

I guess that is enough bad news this time, I would rather like to share some new material with you instead:

Here is a huge arthropod that I was working on for a long time, it will make a menacing appearance in one of the cutscenes. I don’t want to spoil it too much, I will leave it for you to experience.

Next thing that I’m busy with at the moment is the main Hub, an area where your character will return back from his adventures, you will be able to access different routes, unlock new ones and store your artifacts there. Here is a compilation of different new objects:

Also I made a new area, with a massive bridge, it will be a long dreamscape experience..

A new type of trap! Disc saws are fast and deadly, you will have to make your decisions quickly.

That’s all for now! More stuff is in production, once I get the main hub properly done, it will be easier for me to connect and build levels, now that I got my motivation back, I will be posting updates more frequently! Sorry again, for such a long absence..
