The dialogue system in the game isn’t going to be revolutionary, but I want it to reflect the dialogue systems from modern games as much as possible. So it’s not going to be simple. This week I spent some time designing the dialogue system’s back-end to make it as flexible and as feature packed as I can in order to accommodate any scenario I throw at it. Besides just talking to you, NPCs will be able to ask questions and offer to trade items with you.
This week I’ve also spent some time figuring out how the story will go. Half the time was spent deliberating on the details of the story, the other half was spent figuring out how I want to present those details to you. This isn’t going to be a traditional story or traditional game, so I don’t believe traditional storytelling techniques will work. I want the story to unfold in a natural way as you repeat the day so that everything flows poperly and makes sense.
Apologies for posting so late in the day, but I had some technical difficulties accessing GameJolt.
Thank you very much for reading,
God bless
