Disappointing Week of Development - Friday Lookback

As the title says, I’m disappointed in the lack of progress during this last week of development. While I was hoping to have the townspeople pathfinding done several days ago, I’m only just now wrapping it up. I apologize for the over-optimism in my previous Monday Lookahead post, but I honestly didn’t expect this much to go wrong. It’s a very complex piece of work (for me at least) and there were so many little things that went wrong. Honestly, I’m blessed to be wrapping it up as soon as I am - I was scared I would be working on it for weeks. I’ll be sure to temper expectations from now on so that I won’t have to make disappointing posts like this in the future.

This means that the pre-alpha demo I was hoping to release tomorrow (November 5th) will need to be postponed.

I have a compromise though. I will be putting together a quick bare-bones pre-“pre-alpha” demo to release instead. All towns-people and story elements will be stripped from the game, and there really won’t be anything story-wise to do other than explore some of the world and read some books.

I’m very sorry to those of you who have been waiting to play, I’ll share more about the plans for a proper demo on the next “Monday Lookahead”.

Thank you for reading,
God bless
