Dodge! is released

Hi again everyone!

Today I have some big news, at least for me ^^”. Yesterday night I recieved the final sfx I needed and finished programming and uploading the “Dodge!” game. I was too tired to make a post and I went to sleep, but I really wanted to post about it so here I am.

Right now only the Windows version is available, but as I write this I’m waiting for some libraries and stuff to install so I can try and compile a Linux version. Mac version will be hopefully coming shortly after, because I don’t have one and I have to bother some friends to help me with it.

Anyway, first off I want to thank Daniel Price for the music and SFX for the game, and Luis García Orihuela for the graphics. They’re in the credits, I name them everywhere, but they deserve that and more, because without them the game would look way worse and have a random pack of sounds and music that wouldn’t be coherent at all. I know there’s always room for improvement, and some people may not think much of the game, but I’m really proud of the final result.

Also, special thanks to all the people who tried the beta and gave me their feedback, reporting bugs or just helping me polish some of the game mechanics.

Last but not least for the thanks part, I have to mention Josep “Pepe” Camarasa, whose fault probably is that I’ve made this game. He’s been a good friend for a long time and he was the one that introduced me to game programming, helped me get how it worked at the beginning, and also annoyed me constantly so I won’t give up.

I don’t really have a lot to say about the game programming itself. If someone is interested in how the game is designed, say so in the comments and I can make a post another day, or you can go check the code on github if you prefer.

For now I guess that’s it, libraries have finished installing and I should be able to (try to) compile the game for Linux now. I have so future projects in mind, too many to be honest, so I don’t know yet what I’ll be doing. Worry not, if it’s a desktop/web game it will be released here, and if it’s not I may make a post anyways to tell you about it.

Ah! I’m finishing my degree and I’m going to try and find a job in the gaming industry, so wish me luck and if you’re hiring, you know, mail me or something :D

Today I was setting up the location of the first boss. His name is "Father" and he is the first of the Patagonians. His task is to guard the road to the House.🛡🗡 Bookmark pre-launch page🔖🔖🔖

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.
