Doing Civilization clone programming work

I started working on a Civilization style game experiment. I took my map generator code and a* code and pasted this into the blitz basic editor and started coding part of the automated workers that can be used in later civilizationgames.

I want to program these kind of games. I have no idea when I wil make a civilization style game. But I am getting more experienced coding parts of it.

Here is a video of what I got right now.

It took only a couple of hours to make. It is about a thousand lines long now. It is very basic at the moment. There is a lot to be done to get this working with ai players that get in the way I think.

I hope to improve it in the coming weeks.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Made my first ever animation.
