Don't be afraid to try out new things when working on projects.
For example, I avoided working with triggers for the longest time, but I finally worked up the courage and got this little controls display thing working with only a couple lines of code!

Me making another prototype knowing damn well I won't finish it anytime soon.
To all new gamedevs, I know you want to jump to the exciting and cool stuff, but make sure your mechanics are all in place and that they work, even if they don't look that good just yet!

I think I hit the nail with this kind of style, it fits quite well and it's not even that hard to replicate nor achieve!
