Howdy, folks!
It's tradition at this point for another patch, so here it is lol. It's pretty small this time, but I'd rather leave the game in the best state I can before I get back to working on v2.5.0 for a while.
Before we get to the changelog, let's talk about the Chara and Asriel AU vessels, since there's been a bit of confusion about their changes. This was addressed on the DF Discord a while back, so I'll repeat the info here.
The reason those two AU vessels are being replaced with new designs is out of courtesy to the original AU creator, who stated to a different UT fan-game that they did not want their designs to be used. It's not a "copyright claim" like some people seem to be thinking, it was a choice to remove the characters to respect their creator's wishes.
But I knew people wouldn't like those vessels being completely removed, so we're going to be redesigning the characters in v2.5.0 to differentiate them. For now in v2.4.3, they've just been slightly altered because the sprites were still created by us, but in the next update they'll be changed further.
Our new AU Chara design is an "Alternate Chara" that has taken Sans' hoodie after defeating him in genocide, and our new AU Asriel design is currently just Asriel with a red scarf and a green hoodie, but he will be changed to have a red cape instead in v2.5.0.
I made the mistake of assuming the AU characters I added into the game were in the "public domain" since I've seen them used so often, but that was wrong of me to assume, so I apologize. As for the other AU vessels, I don't think there's any issues with those, but I'm willing to remove them upon request from their owners.
Anyway, I hope this makes more sense now. Let's move on to the changelog for this patch:
- Fixed a bug where encounters were not working correctly in Waterfall, Hotland, and the Beta Void.
- Fixed an oversight where two certain vessels were not renamed in Discord Rich Presence.
- Fixed a bug where the controls on the mobile port might have been created twice, potentially causing control issues.
- Fixed a bug when starting a fresh Offline Mode game (not a reset, a brand new game) wouldn't give you the Flowey opening cutscene.
- Increased the rate of gold/diamond enemies if you have gotten 20 of each type of pog.
Just a short patch this time. I hope this fixes the issues people were having!
Thank you all for the continued support on this project. Guess it's back to work on v2.5.0 for me! (...and maybe something else...?)
As always, stay determined!
