saturday we had a school cultural fair
basically we have that every year (exceptions were the last 2 years because covid how ironic) and we arrange a presentation, set up a stand and talk about the selected topic, and parents and students will watch
this year our class had the topic: historical diseases and their cures
we had a raffle in the beginning of the year and our group got assigned to covid
throughout the year we had to make a few videos here and there to update on our progress on the presentation but we basically did nothing until like one month before the thing, then everybody went crazy
even though i helped a lot setting up the slides and made the sign for our stand i felt i wasn't contributing enough so i made the first drawing/cartoon thing
i'm pretty proud of it to be honest it, it's a person fighting covid but literally. i made sure to represent a normal person showing that you don't have to be a hero to win the pandemic fight, and the sword is a vaccine and the shield is a soap bar
but still i felt like i had to do something else, cause our presentation was too straight forward so far: history of covid, how it affected the world and the country we live in (brazil), symptoms, how to avoid it etc i thought we needed like a fun fact, a bonus
(ok to be fair one of the participants in our group really went all out they brought a real copy of the vaccine and explained how the covid test worked it was awesome props to them)
then i decided i wanted to talk about masks. specifically those transparent masks that suck the ones made of polycarbonate cause they actually aren't efficient against covid because the material doesn't filter the air like normal masks and it doesn't adhere well to the face
so i made the comic however it kind of took 6 hours and i stayed up until 4:15am doing that and the presentation was at 9am hhahahhahahahhahah
thankfully i only got sleepy like a few hours after we were done
because covid appeared first in china we decided to go with chinese clothes but i didn't have any so i went with a japanese kimono i had from when i did aikido im sorry ok
the presentation was 3 hours long and it was set up like this: half the group would present for the first hour, then the other half would take over for another hour and finally the original half would present for the last hour
i was in the half that would present for 2 hours i totally didnt go crazy when they told me that hahhahahahhhahhaha
but to be fair i like presenting stuff so it wasn't really a bad thing also i'm the only one who actually had a decently loud voice so the people watching wouldn't have to be 5cm apart to actually listen to the explanation
it was a major success !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
every teacher that watched it said it was amazing including the history teacher and she's really strict especially cause she's the one who organizes the cultural fair in the first place
she even said some parents told her that our presentation was really well done
after we were done and cleaned up the room we presented in i bought a lunch from the canteen and we went home it was such a vibe
then i slept lol deserved it

"The fight against Covid-19"
COMIC
[Transparency?]
"Your mask is very pretty, i really like the color!"
"Thank you! I also like yours..."
"My mask is way better than both yours." (cocky lol noob)
"It's made of polycarbonate, a transparent material, way better than a normal mask."
"Anyway, i don't need to explain this-" (gets interrupted)
"Actually that mask is way worse than ours"
"The material used to make this type of mask doesn't filter correctly the air."
"It's true..."
"Also, it doesn't adhere well to the face, leaving openings that disponibilize the entrance of unfiltered air."
[The same goes for this mask]
[Openings]
"... I didn't know it had so many flaws."
"Well, between winning an argument and protecting myself, i'd rather the second option..."
[End]
