GENERAL INFORMATION
Is Empty Pages a FNaF fangame?
Yes, Empty Pages is a fan-made game based on Five Nights at Freddy’s. It takes ideas from the FNaF universe, especially its horror themes and animatronic characters. The game features new characters, settings, and gameplay while staying true to the FNaF horror style.
What engine is the game made in?
Empty Pages uses Unreal Engine 5.6. This engine provides high-quality visuals, dynamic lighting, and can perform well on mid to high-end systems, as well as giving plenty of opportunity to make a truly terrifying experience.
GAMEPLAY & STORY
What kind of gameplay should I expect?
You will explore a large, decaying theme park. The gameplay combines different styles: you can move freely and use parkour for jumping and climbing. You will solve puzzles and defend yourself using classic point-and-click methods. You'll also need to sneak around and avoid monsters and animatronics. The game features a horror story with real-time cutscenes and voice acting.
Is the story linear or branching?
The main story has a linear path. However, what you learn depends on your choices, exploration, and how deeply you engage with the environment. You can find optional lore and character details that enhance your understanding of the story.
How long is the game?
We aim for the main story to last 4 to 6 hours. Completionists, lore hunters, and puzzle solvers can expect longer playtime.
Are there multiple endings?
Yes, your choices and discoveries affect the ending. Some choices might be subtle and hidden within the environment or missed interactions.
Is there combat in the game?
There is no traditional combat. Empty Pages focuses on survival, avoiding danger, and outsmarting threats. You will use stealth, solving puzzles, and parkour to stay alive.
Is there a map or minimap?
There will be a limited-access map. It won't show your exact location, so you need to pay attention to your surroundings, signs, and landmarks. Being aware of the environment is part of surviving.
Will the game have jumpscares?
Yes, it will, but not too many. We want to focus on creating a sense of fear, atmosphere, and tension rather than relying only on loud noises and sudden surprises. You can expect a few jump scares, but most of the horror will come from what you can only imagine.
Will there be jumpscare toggles or a "safe mode"?
No. Fear and tension are important to the experience, but we won't use cheap or excessive jumpscares to carry the game.
PLATFORMS & SUPPORT
Will VR be supported?
Empty Pages is not meant for Virtual Reality. It offers an immersive first-person view and strong psychological horror, but it is designed for traditional screen use. There are no current plans for VR support, but we might consider it in the future if there is enough demand and it is technically possible.
Will Empty Pages be available on mobile (iOS or Android)?
Empty Pages will not be available on mobile devices like iOS or Android. The game's mechanics, graphics, and controls are designed for PC hardware, which mobile devices cannot support at this time. If a mobile version is made in the future, it would need to be specially optimized or reimagined, but there are no plans for that right now.
Will the game support multiple languages?
The game will support multiple languages at launch. We plan to offer:
- English (US)
- Spanish
- German
- Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Russian
- Irish
We may add more languages after the release based on community interest.
RELEASE PLANS
Will there be a demo, early access, and/or open/closed beta?
We are dedicated to completing our projects. We might offer a playable demo or a limited early access version closer to the launch, depending on how development goes and how interested the community is.
COMMUNITY & VOICE ACTING
Can I voice a character in the game?
Yes, we are casting! If you want to lend your voice, especially for the characters marked as "NULL," please contact us through @Veture or @Nextcrypt
. Share a demo reel or audition line if you have one.
Is this a single-player or multiplayer game?
Empty Pages is a single-player game. It focuses on a personal story and gameplay that immerses players in a tense experience alone.
