I was sweeping the floor of my office in my free time, I heard footsteps from the hallway next to my office, and suddenly, my door was opened aggressively, my coworker Dave, desperate, told me with a slightly trembling voice:
—Sorry if I interrupt you Alan, but I need y-you to come with me, I-I saw something.
I accepted a little confused, but I thought at first that it may could be some insect or something like that, considering that Dave has a fear for many insects.
My coworker Dave directed me to the end of the hallway beside to his office, on the corner of a cleaning room, there it was.
A whole freaking hole of almost 12 inches and a half, it was pretty unsettling to watch, his depth seemed endless, I couldn't understand how it could have that absolute black tone, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't saw nothing but darkness.
When I returned my sight on Dave, I could clearly see his lost look directly at that hole, then he told me:
—Who made this h-hole? What thing it u-used to make it that b-big?
I was turning around on my way to tell to the manager about this, we would find whoever or whatever thing caused that damage, then I hear squeaking slippers right on that small room, and then a hit on the wall, Dave's head was inside the hole and there were pieces of debris on his back and the floor.
Dave managed to get his head out of the hole, but I immediately threw myself on the floor on fetal position when I saw his face, it was completely deformed, not by a damage of the hit, he really looked completely beyond human imagination, it really scared me so bad, and I asked with a unintelligible and extremely muffled voice:
—W-what, w-what is, what h-happened t-to y-you? H-how?
He didn't respond or reacted to me, and that wasn't surprising at all, it didn't looked human at all, I deduced that it was a nightmare, but before looking into that, my mental noise dissipated when I heard a thunderous concrete collapse that moved me and Dave violently, if it there was still a Dave.
I ran out of that room just to see the floor and walls collapsed, then I saw tens, or maybe thousands of workers of that building being lost on a titanic precipice of absolute darkness below Earth.
I saw some of them on the edges, hanging from destroyed floors that looked like fallen bridges, with extremeties exaggeratedly stretched, inflated chests, and messy head and faces, it was truly a complete apocalypse.
But then, I realized that the problem has always been there.
So I jump down to confront whatever is down there.
