Entry 0-1: First Developer Log

So, New Girl Nyx has officially started development, and by that I mean all sprites and backgrounds are in the game files, so now it's time to actually start programming. Considering that I'm also working on Dancing with Darkness and an entire book at the same time, I might prioritize this one simply because it gives me a break from the continuity of my other stories that I'll be telling.

For character sprites, Nyx is the only character that will be seen currently. This may change in the future though. Nyx has 8 variations, each with 13 different emotions, totaling to 104 total sprites for just one character.

For backgrounds, I got some free ones off of itch.io from Noraneko Games and Tainara-P, and their links can be found in the description.

Considering that, like Dancing with Darkness, every choice you make matters and that this is a slow-burn game, this will most likely take a while, and I would like to spend as much of that time as possible writing the script and testing it. If I decide to add in more characters, I'll only do one variation for them, giving them the same 13 emotions that Nyx has.

That's all for now though, more updates soon.
