Since I’ve never really talked about what exactly Event Horizon is, except for the ocassional mention and saying that it would be my next major project (Though the latter wasn’t by name), I’m going to first talk a little bit about it.
Event Horizon is, or at worse was, going to be a top down shooter with a twist. Every shot that you took would make it harder and harder, and lead to a sort of you pick your own difficulty risk-reward system. I was shooting for it to be a one month project, and was going to release it for HTML5.
I say was, because as it currently stands Event Horizon is in development hell. 2 months of working on and off on it, and there’s still nothing I’d be proud to even show off (except for the amazing sound track done once again by Gergaloth). For the time being, I have put the project on the back burner. This doesn’t mean I’m never going to complete it, this just means I want to take a bit of a break and come back at it stronger than ever.
That being said, what’s going to come next then? My plans for now aren’t exactly spectacular. I’m planning to test the waters in making a tower defense game, and possibly another project or two, and then coming right back to Event Horizon.
So, while for the time being we’re not going to see Event Horizon, that doesn’t mean that we won’t ever, and I can pretty much guarantee you that we are going to be seeing it in one form or another by the end of the year.
