Experience On Gamejolt (Interview Aug 1, 2014)

INTERVIEW WITH EXPERIENCE DEVELOPER.

Interviewer: (Private)

Approaching six months of development, Experience is getting to a huge breaking point of cool artistic design and neat mechanics, I’m with the developer himself, Dylan!

Q: For your six months of working on Experience, and the newest artistic design and demo realesed on gamejolt yesterday, what are your inspirations on the gameplay and graphics?

A: Well first off, thank you for taking your time to interview me, it’s heart warming!

Anyway, the graphics and gameplay are kind of like a rough version of that old Nintendo DS game New Super Mario Bros. I feel that the style of that game is just simple but yet fun, just like I feel how my game is.

Q: What game developers inspired you to start making Experience?

A: Definitely Phil Fish (Experience was going to actually have the 2D, 3D experience That Fez has.) But other than that I would also say Shigeru Miyamoto because of the Super Mario Bros series.

Q: Even though the game is in early development still, what are your future plans for Experience?

A: Well my future plans for the game is to first import some custom made 8Bit music or at least something like that. I also want to redo the protagonists mechanics, change up a lot of the level design, but other than that I want everything else to be a surprise!

Thank you for your time today, glad you could get an interview in!

No problem, thanks for having me!

The interview just made me smile the whole time, it’s very heartwarming!

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

"Our work is never over" they said.

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

Alone Together....

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
