Context: this story is inspired by a dream. I had not a few days ago. And this is sort of a retelling of it but besides that, I hope you enjoy the story I wrote for y’all!!
Late one night, I decided to boot up my computer and open an emulator to play Sonic CD. To be fair, it wasn’t really my favorite game—it was just the one I felt like playing at the time.
I started the emulator and loaded Sonic CD. The first thing I noticed was a little strange: Sonic’s pupils were missing. His eyes were there, but they were just blank. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but looking back at old recordings now, it feels pretty unsettling.

I sped my way through the acts until I encountered Amy Rose. At this point in the game, she should have been kidnapped by Metal Sonic, but something was off—very off.

Instead of Metal Sonic appearing, Amy was just… standing there. No cutscene, no abduction. Then I heard a loud buzzing sound, so loud I thought my ears might pop, and the game crashed.
I called it quits and went to bed. Or at least, I thought I did.
When I “woke up,” I wasn’t in my room anymore. I was Sonic—seeing everything from his perspective inside the game. My whole body felt strange, like static was crawling under my skin “Sooooonnnnniiiccc~!!!” it said.
The voice was bit-crushed and distorted. It threw me off because the only audible voice line in the game was Sonic saying “I’m outta here.” Hearing anything else was enough to make me uneasy… maybe even scared.
I turned around and saw Amy. She looked normal… but not normal enough.

That’s when I noticed her headband. It looked strange, almost alive. When I asked her about it, she giggled and said, “Oh, this? It’s just my other mouth! Wanna see?”
Her voice was sing-songy, almost mocking. I stepped back as the headband split wide open into a jagged, toothy grin.
“What’s the matter? Don’t you like my new look?” she asked, tilting her head.
Before I could answer, her “mouth” yawned even wider. I didn’t wait around—I ran.
The drowning music from the Sonic games started playing, echoing in my ears. I could hear Amy chasing me, her footsteps getting closer and closer, Then I saw it: the goal sign. My one chance to escape. With every ounce of strength, I sprinted toward it, praying it would take me out of there.
Then when I did, I woke up in a cold sweat, I assume it wasI assumed it was just a dream so eh Still interesting to talk about.
