(Please expand first if you wish to vote, as I go into more detail about the Game Maker version)
Alright, the results are in! Even though I am a little late on the ball
Seems like Jasper is officially the younger of the two siblings.
Was the poll unnecessary? Possibly.
But I always like to be sure on these kind of things you know?
Anyways! Time to update you on the final area progress, and progress on the Game Maker version!
First the final area:
It’s going slow, however, I do have the entire layout of the place planned, so all I need to do now is make maps to go with said layout, story sequences, and random battles for both it and Hotland.
Two things to note about the final area: It’s the largest area in the game. With a total of over 60 maps.making up the location, so it may take awhile to complete.
However! The good news is, due to an event at the end of the area, your character will remember said info given out during the event on subsequent playthroughs, allowing you to skip this final area.If you’re asking why, I rather not have a chunk of every single playthrough be taken up by this one area alone.
Now, for the Game Maker version.
I have learned a few things by tampering with game maker.
That I have a lot to learn.
And that even with what I know right now, it DOES seem feasible.
And why does it seem feasible?
Because I have a working Prototype-ish thing
The big question is, would you guys WANT a Game Maker version?
IT would likely be finished and released after the completed RPG Maker MV Version, and it would increase my workload. But I personally wouldn’t mind it. Especially since it would give me an excuse to stay involved with Undertale. Not like I need more, but I think you get what I’m saying
So, let me say a few things about this version:
Will it Impact the devlopment of the original Version?
No. I will finish up and focus on the Original version first.
Will it be the same as the Original version? Just swapping out the combat systems?
There will be several changes,
Can you at least name some of the changes?
Gladly!
Confirmed Changes:
The Battle System will be the same one from Undertale (Obviously)
You can actually name yourself after your party members! (Their names will
change to reflect you using their original name.)
To accommodate for this I plan too make the game harder than Undertale was.
(The Pacifist/Netural Routes will recive a slght increase in difficulty, while the genocide route will receive larger one. Good luck partner.)
Everyone learns spells through CAP power up now. Except for Siren, who starts with all his moves
Party members only being swapable with Lyric, and Lyric showing up more often. Less and more backtracking… at the same time!
Actual Undertale-estque dates with some of the characters, rather than them being cutscenes.
New & Changed Maps!
New & Changed Puzzles!
Changes that may happen in the future should this project happen:
Also, speak of the devil, there may or may not be a hard mode. And it may or may not affect more than just enemies this time
Minigames in Snowdin! Who’s up for some shump action with Mettaton and not triple triad? And maybe even more!
Cheat codes! Input these on the title screen and something fun or silly may happen…
A more interesting end-game for pacifist players than planned with the RPG Maker Version
Things that won’t change:
Characters.
The very basics of the plot.
CAP being a replacement for EXP.
Upgradable Inventory Slots!
The new enemies.
The Old enemies. (They will have redone sprites though, for some, if not all.)
The endings
Some other things I’m likely not thinking of..
Whew, I think that’s everything. Thanks for reading all that if you did.
And thanks for voting if you did! And remember….
Let’s finish the Job =)
