đȘ¶đ âCyclefallâ
A world without humans. Where death is not the endâjust a terrifying turning of the wheel.
---
đ The World: Virelia
Virelia is a vast, vibrant world where no humans have ever existed. Life flourished in surreal directions: intelligent, sentient forms evolved from insects, animals, food, and even inanimate objects, coexisting in strange cities and dreamlike landscapes. The sun doesnât riseâit drips, slowly seeping from the sky like golden honey. The moon has a heartbeat.
In Virelia, all living things undergo the Respawn Cycle.
---
𧿠The Respawn Cycle
Death in Virelia is inevitable â not an end, but a dark, necessary reset. When someone dies, they return. Always. But never quite right.
Respawning is the soul being pulled back into the cycle â but with every resurrection, a piece of the original identity decays or mutates. For some, itâs a change in voice. For others, itâs the inability to remember a loved one. The unlucky ones come back with phantom limbs, fractured minds, or twisted desires.
Ancient texts warn:
> "To respawn more than thrice is to become someone else entirely."
Thus, people live with both comfort and dread: death doesnât mean farewell⊠but neither does coming back mean home.

đŠ Moffie, the Last of the Moths
Moffie, 19, is a kind-hearted, nearsighted moth anthro, quiet and obedient, often underestimated. He wears round glasses, cozy sweaters, and is never seen without a folded notebook for scribbling poems and dreams. He is shy, tender, and infinitely polite â shaped by growing up under his gentle father, LĂ»mme, in a forest on the outskirts of civilization.
Moffieâs mother vanished when he was young. She didnât die. She simply⊠disappeared. And in this world, thatâs somehow worse. Her wings were found by a lake, glowing faintly. Since then, Moffie and his father have lived as the last remaining moth-kin â an old, nearly extinct lineage once thought to be keepers of âLight Memory,â the mystical anchor to pre-Respawn identity.
At 18, Moffie moved to Dormance University, an institute built into the hollow shell of a giant fallen beetle god. He studies "Echo Theory"âthe science of identity echoes after respawn.
---
đ Anntana â The Watchful Flame
Anntana, 20, is a stoic and loyal ant anthro, a natural-born caretaker and defender. Sheâs Moffieâs first roommate. Quietly in love with him, she hides her feelings beneath acts of service â making tea, adjusting his blanket when he falls asleep studying, fixing broken things.
She lost her left eye in a building collapse during a Respawn Surge. Since then, she sees more clearly in metaphor than in reality.
Her love for Moffie is not dramaticâit is enduring. Not desperate, but certain. Sheâs the rock in the emotional chaos of their home.
---
đŠ Jeff â The Melting Heart
Jeff, 17, is an excitable, living ice cream boy, sweet and sticky, always moving, always laughing. Heâs known Moffie since they were toddlers at Sprout Garden Preschool, and is the perfect counterbalance to Moffieâs calm.
Jeff joined the dorm after discovering they were at the same university. He brought his games, his snacks, his energy â and unshakable loyalty. He falls hard for Tiffany almost instantly, trying (and failing) to impress her with manga facts and karaoke.
---
đ± Kaeki â The Silent Bell
Kaeki, 20, is a maneki-neko-style cat anthro, resembling the traditional Japanese lucky cat statues. Despite her cute, glossy exterior and charming appearance, she is deeply introverted. She struggles to connect but longs to. Her social anxiety makes her blunt, cold, and awkward â but beneath it is a sharp mind and enormous heart.
She only really opens up to Anntana, and slowly to Jake, who teaches her how to navigate conversations and emotions.
Kaeki was once a shrine guardian, before leaving her sacred role due to the trauma of multiple respawns. Her tail flicks whenever she lies.
---
đ Tiffany â The Rotten Core of Curiosity
Tiffany, 18, is a humanoid apple girl, crunchy, sweet, and a bit tart. Obsessed with Japanese culture, she collects anime figures, prints her notes in manga fonts, and even quotes dramatic anime lines in casual conversation.
Despite her strange hobbies, she's surprisingly emotionally intelligent. She senses the wounds behind Moffieâs politeness and Jeffâs cheer, and is intrigued by both.
She has no idea how she died her first time. She doesnât remember it â only that she woke up with a bite mark on her back.
---
đź Jake â The Soul-Walker
Jake is not made of flesh, or fruit, or fur. He is a manifestation of essenceâthe living soul of someone long forgotten. A glowing wisp-boy with a soft voice and no past.
He arrived one night during a power outage. Just⊠appeared. Everyone accepted him. Thatâs how essence-beings are.
Jake helps Kaeki socialize, comforts Moffie with his dreamy words, and is a stabilizing force among the chaos. He exists between the cycleânever born, never died. His secrets run deep.

đŻïž Shared Destiny: The Dorm of Echoes
These six strange beings live together in a rickety three-story dorm nicknamed the Dorm of Echoes, where the wind hums names and shadows donât always follow the rules.
Each of them carries secrets tied to the Respawn Cycle⊠and whether they know it or not, their souls are slowly synchronizing. Some sc
holars call this phenomenon "Entangled Light." When it happens, fate begins to fold in on itself.
