First build- explanations and what to expect


Before we begin, it must be noted that I will probably be releasing builds weekly, or more likely, bi-weekly along with a progress report uploaded to YouTube and linked here.

It will follow a fairly standard format: introduction, list of things that should be in the build, additional notes, other guff, sign off. I hope this will allow for a close relationship between developer and community- healthy for an in development game.

So, all that aside, what will be in the first build, released on the 6/11/17 (Iโ€™m British, deal with our sensical date formatting) hopefully? Well Iโ€™m glad I asked! Here is what should be in it:

  • finite map of just asteroids and yourself. Size and asteroid density configurable on start

  • a number of different types of asteroids that generate

  • asteroid destruction with your mining beam (it may not stay as a beam so enjoy it while you can!)

  • asteroid collision with your placeholder non-editable totally-not-downloaded-from-the-internet space craft

  • movement (wow!)
    This will allow people to get a slight flavour of the games style, which, will probably change over the next months. Feedback is greatly appreciated and I would love it if you use the discord since itโ€™s empty pls join lol shameless plug I know, but I created it to allow for better communication between developer and community. Of course comments on the games page is still perfectly fine and I will do my best to respond quickly and thoughtfully.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.
