Five Nights at Maggie's 3 - The worst way to end a trilogy that I've ever seen

If you don't know what Five Nights at Maggie's 3 is:

Now, I know some people might be a bit upset from reading the heading of this post, but please let me give an explanation as to why I think this way.

So, Five Nights at Maggie's 1 and 2 were both reboots of the original first two games, and they have both proven to be far superior to their original counterparts. FNAM 1 was, okay in terms of gameplay, I did like it's style however, but FNAM 2 was a genuine improvement over the original second game, it was not only fun, but also interesting to play, as it did have some cool mechanics even if they aren't considered to be unique in today's standards of fangames.

So we are now told that Five Nights at Maggie's 3 will happen, and I thought this would be a really interesting one. You see, in the original FNAM 3, the idea for it's mechanics had you situated in a different room each night, and had you perform different kinds of tasks while dodging the animatronics and surviving till 6am, now while the game had a really good idea on paper, it was unfortunately not projected that well, but, I saw how this game could be improved a lot with the idea, and that's why I was excited for the reboot of FNAM 3, I thought Manuel was going to really improve on his original ideas for the original FNAM 3, and when it got announced, the reboot of FNAM 3 was a FNAF 1 clone....

I was a bit annoyed, why was Manuel going with this kind of route? He had a really interesting idea for the gameplay of the original FNAM 3 that he could've improved on, but he instead decided to go with a FNAF 1 gameplay, why? The game proceeded to just decline in quality as I saw more of it, the camera's UI was crap, it wasn't smooth, and felt like it was slapped together (I mean come on, the main vent tab just has one goddamn button that says "flashlight" on it) It just was not impressing me in the slightest.

As the development of the game continued onwards, it seemed as if Manuel was trying to do a different approach for the marketing of the game, he almost seemed like he wanted to do an ARG for FNAM 3 for fans of the series to discover and look into, however, it was made clear that none of the fans were even bothered to go that deep into it, so it just came off as weird and never was even explained properly in the end.

When the game finally came out, it still dropped my hype for the game as I played it, and I thought that wasn't possible. The gameplay just continued to be boring and repetitive, it wasn't a good kind of repetitivness like FNAM 2 where it makes you try to hone your own skills, it's just the kind of repetitivness that is dull and boring to do like a chore. The game also has these little bonus parts in between where you try to fry the circuits of each animatronics to "end the madness oooooooooo" It's basically just filler really, but you also have to fend off against the endoskeleton as well (which don't worry, we'll get back to him soon).

If I can say one good thing about this game, the minigame sprites do look pretty good, they were done very well, it's just a shame the rest of the game doesn't make up for it. Oh and, you may be wondering "where is Cerdi or even Jerry?" Well don't you worry, because Cerdi is now an endoskeleton, yep, remember that endoskeleton I mentioned before? That's Cerdi, what kind of lazy bullcrap is that, he's just an endo now? That's so boring and unoriginal, how did Manuel manage to do a better job at reintroducing Cerdi in FNAM 4 (the game for the original series) than this one, and don't worry about Jerry guys, because Jerry isn't in this game, Jerry was introduced as a new character in FNAM 2, and guess what, he's nowhere to be seen, only briefly described in the minigames, that's fantastic isn't it, another dead plot point in a sea of dead plot points (I'd rather not go into full detail of the story).

And at the very end, when you think it couldn't get aaaaaaany worse, Manuel straight up copied his ending from FNAM 4's max mode, and used it for FNAM 3's ending. I'm not kidding! The way the dialogue is written, the way it makes it out as "time to end things..." and it has the exact same ending scene music from FNAM 4, talk about running out of ideas. In the end, the reboot of FNAM 3 is a lazy FNAF 1 clone that poorly describes it's last events of the story and poorly describes additional plotpoints for past events. Manuel could've made this reboot something truly special if he decided to go based off his original ideas for the original third game, but he decided to go with this, a bland, unoriginal, boring game.

I give this shitshow a 2/10, and that's being generous at least, FNAM 3 is not a good ending to a trilogy, don't play this game.

I decided to do a fan dub of the Mega Man X4 end cutscene, using my own take on the dialogue for that cutscene as well
