Hi guys!
It has been a rough month and we’ve been busy but we have some good news we wanted to tell you so here we go.
First of all, we’ve been working our assess off on getting The Fall of Lazarus: The First Passenger (our prologue demo) on Steam and today just went live! We thought it would be a great idea to implement all the work and enhacements we’ve been developing for the full game in the demo because we wanted to upload it to Steam. We were also at an indie event here in Zaragoza and we thought it was the perfect timing for polishing it.
THE FIRST PASSENGER 2.0
And here it is! The First Passenger 2.0, almost brand new. Here you have a list with all the changes we’ve made so far:
Full texture rework.
New sound and music by Sonotrigger: this is a big deal. We’ve implemented all the work our friends from Sonotrigger have been doing for the final release and you can hear a glimpse of the final sound design and music!
New Hybris voice effect by Sonotrigger.
Terminal interfaces rework.
New lightning system.
Gameplay improvements: Action for open/close doors now use an improved physics system. Now you can interact with items. The important items are stored in the Mnem/0z1n3 tool. Added sprint.
*New assets: now we’ve started filling the spaceship with objects. There are a little few in the demo but check out the exteriors of the USSC Lazarus!
All this improvements are more representative of the final game and we wanted our demo to look as great as possible for the Steam release. Obviously you can download it here on Gamejolt too! We got you covered :D
PROJECT STATUS 01: LOCALISATION
We’ve been working with Localise.me as we said in the campaign and now we have the script fully translated to english. That was key for contacting voice over companies in order to get the voices and keep working on schedule. We are on track and now here they come, the big news:
PROJECT STATUS 02: VOICE OVER BY SIDE UK
Yeah! That’s it! Just in the header line! We were eager to tell you! We’ve been working with SIDE UK, one of the best voice over companies in the world for our little indie game. They worked in some video games you may heard like THE DIVISION, GHOST RECON WILDLANDS, HITMAN, BATTLEFIELD 1, THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, SOMA OR ALIEN ISOLATION.
Yeah. We know. WOW. We were looking for some voice over companies and we wanted to work with the best. We have a saying in the studio: go big or go home. We want the best video game we can possibly make with our resources and SIDE fits perfectly with that philosophy.
We already have in our hands the voice over for the entire game and we will start implementing it right away. And what about the rest of The Fall of Lazarus? Safe and sound! We want to get a playable build from start to end of the game in the end of this month and start polishing it in July. We aimed to release it in September and that’s whats gonna be.
GAMEBOSS 2017
And that’s not all! Last weekend we were at GameBoss 2017, a great indie event that took place here, in our own city, Zaragoza (Spain). It was a delightful weekend full of indie devs and cool people. We could meet the nice people behind Teku Studios (Candle), 3D2 Entertainment (The Crow’s Eye) and talk a little bit with Ludipe (A Place for the Unwilling, Alpixel Games) or Mauricio García (Blasphemous, The Game Kitchen)! We also could desvirtualize Alberto from Equilateral (a spanish online magazine about indie games), Juanma from Nivel Oculto (another spanish online magazine about indie games or LO INDIE, as they like to say :D), Afry from FemDevs and Paula from TodasGamers (two cool feminist spanish organizations) and there was also time for playing some promising spanish indie titles! You should keep an eye on our indie scene because its gona rock hard for some years. See you in the next event, people! :D
I think NOW we can finish this update. That was quite a lot, huh? We will keep you posted as always and remember: ADD THE FALL OF LAZARUS TO YOUR WISHLIST AND SPREAD THE WORD!
See you in the next update, people!
Cheers!
