On November 28, 2021, Florida announced that they would be hiring their 28th head coach, Billy Napier, for the 2022 season, after he had a successful stint at Louisiana as the head coach. He replaced Dan Mullen as the head coach for Florida.
2022: Napier led Florida to a 6-7 record. Florida lost the Las Vegas Bowl 30-3 vs Oregon State
2023: Napier led Florida to a 5-7 record.
2024: Napier led Florida to an 8-5 record. Florida won the Gasparilla Bowl 33-8 vs Tulane.
2025: Napier led Florida to a 3-4 record before being fired after a 23 - 21 win over Mississippi State. Napier had an overall record of 22-23 at Florida, making two bowl game appearances and winning one bowl game in his three and a half seasons.
