Hey y'all! In the time since the release of this game's final update, v3.0, there's been some changes behind the scenes and opinions about the game that I believe necessitate one last quality-of-life update... so here it is!
Changelog:
- There are now 4 levels of difficulty for each character: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Nightmare! Since 3.0's release, people have complained about the game being unapproachable for new players even with the existing presets, so we've decided to add an even easier difficulty as well as one in between the previous two difficulties. Now the progression between difficulties should be much smoother and easier to progress in!
- Laser Pointer has been nerfed to only be a visual challenge! This means that hitbox sizes no longer change when you toggle it. We feel like LP working in this way is "better", since it balances out more with the other checkmark challenges, makes it more approachable, and... maybe even makes it fun? However, for those that still want that added challenge, there's a secret way to access OG laser pointer... if you know you know! ;)
- Perspective has been removed. It sucks, but fixing the gamma adjusting cheese causes the perspective shader to break.
- Completing a challenge on "Easy" earns a white star, "Medium" earns a pink star, "Hard" earns a red star, and "Nightmare" earns a purple star. (Warning: playing on older versions after playing 3.1.0 may cause your stars to mess up and not display correctly)
- How long characters will wait at the doors is now scaled by their Difficulty.
- Pixel Pointer has been removed.
- Monstergami's first attack has been nerfed.
- Shadow Vinnie at 12AM - 1AM has been buffed slightly.
3.1.1 Changelog:
- Characters crouched at the bedside no longer allow you to remove the flashlight from their face after a period of time.
- To account for the change above, Shadow Cat’s cycle has been altered slightly.
3.1.2 Changelog:
- Reverted the nerf to Shadow Cats leniency between attack phases.
