Fnaf World: Universal Madness - what is next?

for those who don't remember me, I'm Miky. I'm one of the composers for this game and I've been a BIG fnaf world fan for basically a year now.

Fnaf World Universal Madness (which for the sake of simplicity, it will be described as FWUM for the rest of the document), has been in development for quite some time, and I wanted to talk about the changes and evolutions of the game, aswell as where I think it could go next.

Originally called Ultra FNaF World, FWUM was proposed as a faithful remake of the original game from mostly the ground up, with a new story, new areas and a healthy amount of characters, bosses and areas to explore.
So far, from what we've seen of the update videos (and the background footage which I've analized) the game seemed to be in a mostly playable state, only missing some of the few moves that were designed in the update log number 3.

Unfortunately, FWUM is an incredibly big project that is too big and too demanding for clickteam fusion's engine to run, and thus it was abandoned for a more stable engine built for way bigger games.

It seems @LivingCorpse7 has decided on rebuilding the game on Godot, an engine of which I personally know about, considering I'm VERY SLOWLY trying to learn it myself, and from what we've seen from his latest video ( https://youtu.be/gA4-g0ufnTU ) it seems that the godot engine is working well!

"Miky how can you tell that is godot? to me it looks exactly like the og fnaf world"

Well, there ARE some hints:

1) the character selection menu seems to be quickly put togheter specifically for the video, with character sprites from LivingCorpse's own fnaf world designs.

2) some parts of the game are not fully polished, like the lolbit's store and the mines, implying that this isn't the original fnaf world game

3) Only some of the characters from the first rows are displayed as playable, meaning that Corpse is slowly reworking the mechanics on godot from early game characters to late game ones.

and from what we're seeing, the game seems to be working really well! moves are functional, and so is the overworld and bosses. The OG FW graphics will likely be replaced for the official FWUM release, considering that they are finished and have been for months now.

now, what can we expect from the game? well other than some banger soundtrack (which I've been carefully designing to make sure it's as high energy as the later game fights are) and very appealing graphics, I'm expecting FWUM to be a very grindy game that's based more on exploration and challenges rather than normal FW "aimless grinding" where you walk around pinweel funhouse for hours to collect all the characters.

I'm also expecting the core mechanics to be altered so that grinding for area specific characters is essential to survive some enemies, which could be immune to certain moves.

also also, the game WILL be harder. With the gift boxes move having a serious debuff (all characters respawn at 1HP from what I remember), and the skins having very specific moves perfect for certain enemies, I expect the game loop to be based on "experimentation".

you'll change your party almost constantly between old and new characters you've collected, and BECAUSE the early game characters have overpowered skins worth grinding for and using, the replayability aspect and challange based speedruns will be exciting and fun!

all this to say...while the wait IS long, it is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. every single second is. We're witnessing the craft nobody expected from fnaf world fans, let alone a solo developer, and I'm excited to finally play the game once it releases. I mean, the fact that we have a gigantic game with A LOT of content on launch, aswell as side missions with fangame characters? man, this is gonna be probably the best RPG I've ever played in my life XD

so please, be patient and most importantly be kind to Living Corpse.

and, message to you specifically LivingCorpse, please take your time and remember to have fun with the project. What you're doing is not easy and if it takes a long time, then it shouldn't worry you. You've displayed talent, consistency and great skill in everything you do this entire year, and I applaude you for your hard work. It inspires me everyday to finally beat my executive disfunction and get stuff done! XD

this is all from me, see you soon guys!
