Hello, this will be boring to some but i wanted to share some tricks i did to make the gameplay of FNAF 1 work in only 50 MB.
This is still using Clickteam Fusion 2.5, like the original game, but im not using any of those decompilations, i remade the game using all info i could find about how the animatronics work.
First of all, why did i optimize the game? FNAF 1 works, and it works on almost anything because the game is made only of images, but there are some things that could be improved.
One of the main changes is that instead of having full renders like the original game for each camera and animatronic position, the game only has the parts that change as an overlay, the background is a single render.
Doing this makes the file size a lot smaller than the original, this also happens with the Foxy running animation, it was 20MB before and now it's only 2MB!:
The game still looks the same as the original when playing, this is the foxy animation in-game using the image from above:
Bonus:
In the original game, there was a small problem, the door had the original colors when you had no power (its a small problem, as the doors would open anyway), it has been fixed here!
Jumpscares
This may be the only one that makes the quality a bit worse, jumpscares are half the resolution, this is a trick that Scott used in UCN.
The player isn't going to notice the quality for something like this, and the motion blur hides part of it. Foxy and Golden Freddy are the only ones that have their full resolution jumpscare.
Foxy's jumpscare is still 720p, but i removed most of the unused office render behind it.
The main reason to do all of this was that this improves load times and makes updates faster to download, i think thats a big reason to do it, at least for me.
Anyways, i hope you found this at least a bit interesting, have a good day!
