For personal reasons, I'll be stepping down from the @/ArtWeeklies project. in these (almost) 2 years lots of stuff happened in there, but now, I feel it's time for me to move on.

since you opened the Article, let's do a quick recap of the Art Weeklies timeline, shall we? :)

  • I began planning some ideas for theme challenges in March 2023

  • In April 2023, the community gets made in secret, shortly after the Art Weeklies account gets made too

  • In Late June 2023, I officially reveal the project to GameJolt, promoting it everywhere I can in here

  • For a long while, lots of themes are made, with lots of lovely submissions, too!

  • Somewhere between here and the end of the year, Art Weeklies goes through a rebrand, replacing Wiksy with a fancy robot (which actually has a body and isn't just a head), along with some changes in how themes are handled

  • Overtime, I've became burnt out of doing it all by myself though, which is why I took a sudden hiatus for the time being for Art Weeklies in January 2024

  • Not all hope is lost! 3 weeks after, LUKELCS, ClapRose, Frisbi and Volt come into the team to revive this weekly themes project. Everyone involved did art submissions before and up to the reveal of the comeback

  • The comeback changes a few things from the rebrand, like instead of going back and forth between 2 to 4 themes, 3 themes would be the standard again

  • We keep doing themes, Art Weeklies keeps on slowly growing

  • And now we're here

yes there hasn't been any new arts in the past 5 days or so, the reason for that is that, taking a more spaced time between arts after almost 2 years of work non-stop kinda hit me with all that tiredness at once lol
