We're back with another spooky devlog delivery! For all of you fountain dwellers waiting patiently for more content, we have LOTS to talk about.
Let's get to it!
Team Updates
We have made a huge amount of progress since August, the prologue and Ruined City sections are almost finished, the Sanctuary portion is half-done, and we started work on the Field area of the chapter as well!
We also got a new pixel artist animator and two new programmers on our team to help us speed up development.
I still can't promise a concrete release date, but we are very optimistic about a December-January release, so stay tuned!
Game Progress
Assets - Besides tileset and prop work, we have been animating some enemies and revamping some old sprites, such as Dess and Stella's battle sprites.

Maps/Level Design - Our coders have been hard at work on the first areas of the game. mainly the Ruined City area and the Sanctuary area. We expect these to be done very soon, and then all of our focus will shift to the Fields of Time area, aka the meat of the demo!
Concept Work - Alongside the development of the demo content, we have been making concepts for some NPCs and other contents beyond the demo's scope, such as the Aircenter Paradise final design!

Character Revamps - Now for the most important set of updates we'll be discussing in this status update: We've been thinking a lot about our story, and we've been cleaning up some rough edges that stuck out. This led to us realizing that the designs and names of two characters needed to be changed; AsaFesta and Sellington.
AsaFesta - Due to a few clashes and rewrites the character went through this past year, we have grown unsatisfied with his older design and name, and thus we changed it to fit more the story we have planned for him and the other characters, mostly his clothes and general build were clashing with what we had in mind.
His new name is Seraphim. His redesign was done by MilkMan and L1zardArt1stre.Sellington - Ironically enough, Sellington got changed for the exact opposite reason. His dialogue and personality is perfect as is is, but then you look at his design and...It's just Spamton again.
Even though the two of them are vastly different in personality and goals, The only things that connected them was that they both liked money and they were both puppets, which was weird. He honestly had no reason to be like that other than "Spamton is cool", and he ended up hurting the originality of the chapter.
So with the help of Rosaic, Lex3x and L1zard, we have completely redesigned Sellington into a fully fledged original character, meet the one and only: Billian Deckster
New Songs
A lot of songs have been released in the last few days, here's a few of em!
This song has been in the works for a month and is one of my favorite songs of the project; Billian's overworld theme, made by Sparkdoubt!
Following up with "Sanctuary", made by Lex3x. The Sanctuary is a safe world and the place where you'll meet Seraphim! Think of it as the "Castle Town" of FOUNTAINTALE...

Closing Remarks
Development has been pretty smooth, we made more progress in these last 4 months than we did in the entirety of 2023. I am very happy to have such a dedicated team working with me to make this dream game a reality, and we are very excited to show more to you all once the demo releases.
