Fun fact: in the code for sonic 1 2013 the scripts for the enemies reference "MBZ" which egg Gauntlet zone was originally called Marathon Base Zone and is a possibility that this level was meant to be in the game but didn't even get worked on


Or marathon base would be a sonic 1 like egg Gauntlet when sonic 2 will have egg Gauntlet

It would make sense. Because why have zones that are the same concept and have the same NAME!
