fun pokemon fact


most of the regional rodents aren't actually rodents

out of the 8 regional rodents that exist, only 3 of them are actual rodents

sqwovet, rtattata, and bidoof are the only rodents in the group, being based off of a squired, a rat, and a beaver/mouse respectively

yungoos and patrat are both members of the mongoose family, being a mongoose and meerkat respectively

bunnelby is based off of a rabbit which is a lagamorph

zigzagoon is based off of a racoon which is it's own family (shared with creatures like coatis and kinkajous)

and sentret takes inspiration from both racoons and ferrets, neither of which are ferrets. raccons are part of their own family and ferrets are part of the mustelid family
