I've seen many people on this site complain about how the block feature doesn't properly prevent the users you've blocked from interacting with your profile. From these discussions, I've come up with a feasible solution.
Game Jolt should create a new 'Mute' feature, and update the block feature
Muting a user makes them unable to shout on your profile, comment on your posts or comments on your posts, reply to your comments, chat to you in your chat room, address you (@) in a post or comment, or send you a friend request
Muting someone would also hide all of their messages in a group chat that you're both members of, which would be unhidden upon unmuting said user.
However, muted users would still be able to view your profile, like and place stickers on your posts, like and react to your comments and comments on your profile and posts, and buy items in your shop.
The mute feature essentially acts as a "soft block", disabling all communications that a user could use to reach you, but still allowing them to view and interact with your profile. This would be a good feature for creators who may want to stop someone from spamming on their pages, but doesn't want them to be locked out of their profile completely
Then, the block feature should be updated to act as it should have from the beginning, completely preventing a user from accessing your profile and interacting with you in any way, shape, or form.
This would be a very useful feature, and a much needed update if they were implemented into Game Jolt.
Here is the comment where I first conceptualized this idea, and the post that inspired this idea in the first place: https://gamejolt.com/p/please-for-the-love-of-god-make-blocked-people-be-unable-to-see-you-gjhgqayp
Shout out to @Sarfii_ for making the original post that lit the spark for this piece of feedback
