That’s right folks. Beta 2.0 is here!!!!
Yep, that was a short break from beta 1.0 to 2.0! Right after I released the first beta, I went straight to work on figuring out the main menu level. And in this beta, this is what you get.
At first, I decided to create a 2d Menu layout. I was putting the unity’s new UI system to work. The way that I was going with it, I just didn’t like it. And in the last minute I decided to do a 180 and change it the 3d menu. Which actually worked out pretty well if you ask me. Instead of a play button that takes you straight to the action, I decided to create a level selection screen. When you first start off, levels 2-6 will be locked. Once you complete each level, the levels will unlock once you go back to the main menu. If you close out the game and reopen it the levels that you unlock will still be unlocked. If you want to reset it, press the reset button. Once the reset button is press, once you exit the game levels 2-6 will go back in being locked.
This beta, was just strictly the main menu. I want to get some impressions on how you like the menu system and what I should do to change it if that’s some of you guy’s suggestions. I also change the other levels too. Instead of hitting escape, you can pause the game and click on main menu. Once you are on main menu, just click quit to exit the application. I put a dummy object in so you can exit the game. Now, the main menu is there for you players to quit the game.
This level does not have the winning area. It’s just the main menu. I’m saving the winning level for the final release, which will be the next release (YAY!!!). Level 6 is still the last official level. So, by all means you won once you complete that level!
I hope you guys are enjoying this beta! Please let me know what you guys think about the beta 2.0, this will be the last beta. The next release will be the official game! Any suggestions you guys have, please leave a comment below I love to hear them!
