So, I'm sure most of the people here know about the Poppy Playtime event here in Gamejolt, right? Well, about that, some specific people (and well, mostly the CEO) behind the company that made Poppy Playtime was really shady.
They make nfts for people to collect just so the people gets access for more "lore clues"; they fire their workers who protested that they receive low payment and poor treatment, and they also harassed, threatened, cyberbullied, and stole some things and ideas from a person by the name of "Ekrcoaster" ; an animator in youtube.
Oh right, there's also Animation Sins too. It's also ran by the same people from MOB Games or EnchantedMob (EnchantedMob is where they really started off with this whole thing). If you're not sure what Animation Sins is, basically it's like Cinema Sins where they point out some mistakes or some things that need improvement but as for this case, Animation Sins does a different approach to this.
They break down the talents of independent animators, and one of those people were Ekrcoaster.
Ekrcoaster has tried multiple times to get them to stop sinning their videos. They ended up agreeing to this then continued to make more after 5 months.
Not only that, but it made their community hate Ekrcoaster too. See it for yourself over here.
I do not intend to bring any hate towards MOB Games and Gamejolt. I'm only here to help spread awareness about the company (and the people behind it) that Gamejolt collaborated.
Seriously, this is something that people should know about. Especially you, Gamejolt.
If you continue to collaborate with companies without even checking their past or background, things might end up getting messy. Not just for you and your team, but the people in the website will also get affected by this.
Tldr; Gamejolt collaborates with a company whose people (mostly the CEO) had a very shady past which includes making nfts for lore, stealing things and ideas from others, harassing, threatening, cyberbullying, breaking down independent animators, firing their workers who protest poor payment and treatment, and causing their own community to hate on someone. Gamejolt should at least research about the company they want to collaborate with.
I still view all of this as a very negative thing to this platform. Knowing the things they did; yet again, I am very disgusted.
This was a lot to cover, so I appreciate everyone who read everything until the end.
Please continue to share this awareness to other people. Not everyone knows about this, but it's best for others to know.
I'll be ending this here. Thank you again for reading.
