My hobby is to recreate various gameplay mechanics in Game Maker. So, I challenged myself: what if I recreate Lock-on weapons from Neo Contra in 8-bit environment? Result you can see in this video.
So, I recreated Heaven's Laser - one of the most interesting in terms of mechanics weapon. Well, it's playable but almost senceless in regular 2D stages. In most cases, regular weapons are much more comfortable to use.
