Generic review on Night Watch at Freddie's.

Hello there dear users who just happened upon this. This the start of my fan game reviews which i probably won't be doing so often due to laziness and school. But this is the first one out of many so let's just jump into it.

This reimagining of FNAF 1 came out in Sep 19, 2025 created by Avocadodreams! The same gal that made the masterpiece that is Graveyard Shift at Freddy's. After being kinda disappointed by The Remnants of Tubbyland, i still went into this fan game expecting something atleast somewhere a 8/10. Needless to say i wasn't so disappointed this time.

So, basically some dude befriended one of Scott's- Wait, i'm sorry. "Scot Cawthorn" as this game calls him, son Bradley and manage to get him to give an old prototype versions of Scot's game "Night Watch at Freddie's". So, basically this game is a game within a game world.

The gameplay itself is literally FNAF 1 but opposite, which is something I actually find really charming! The doors are always closed, and instead opening them and using the lights increase "Breaker Stress". The lights are the main source of defense. The map is also literally the FNAF 1 Map but upside down. Our office is at the upper part of the map. And the cam buttons are depicted as small white circles that project the direction they're looking at, which is actually something the Old Map of the original FNAF 1 used to be!

Before the first night, we see a developer note from Scot.

On the first night, the phone guy calls us and briefly explains the nature of our work, reading a letter from the company. Then he says it's all bullshit. He says the animatronics in the establishment are moving. He doesn't know why, and neither do the technicians. But just in case, he warns us about the animatronics. He also says there was a party at this establishment a long time ago, and a child went missing.

On the first night, both Benny and Chickadee 2.0 are active.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how charming and Scott-styled these models are? When i first saw these models, i at first thought "Aw! These look so cute, how could they possibly harm me?" then you see the poses and renders they do on the cameras and think "Oh... i REALLY wanna keep these guys away from me"

Anyways, how do we deal with these animatronics? Well, Benny goes through the left hallway, there's no way to guess when he's at th door so you'll have to watch him on the left hallway camera, btw when also watching it also stalls him giving you points. When Benny leaves the left hallway, he is most DEFINITELY at your left door, when he is, open the left door and just hold the light on until he leaves. When he leaves, the light itself stops holding so you can not worry about thinking you fucked up and that Benny is gonna clap yo cheeks. If you just don't open the door and let it be closed like a dumbass, Benny is just gonna open that shit himself and then eat you.

As for Chickadee 2.0, she goes through the right hallway, staring at her also stalls her and her leaving means she's definitely at the door. When you do, just like Benny also open it, but WAIT! The way you deal with her is unlike Benny, you do not have to hold the light on her, instead you must flash her by repeatedly flickering the light until she leaves. Now i wanna talk about the annoying way you make Chickadee go away faster, when you simply just spam click the light button it won't register every hit you make. But when you at the same time move your cursor and spam click the light button at the same time, it WILL register every click you make. Why is that the issue? The answer is that this fan game was made in Clickteam just like every other fan game.

Also at some chance, when you're looking at Benny and Chickadee 2.0 on the hallway cameras, they can straight up run to your office, which absolutely freaked me out the first time i got it.

After the night, we got another developer note.

Before Night 2, phone guy calls us again and tells us some shit idk i wasn't listening to him through the entire call. At the end, his dog does something and phone guy playfully scolds her before hanging up.

This night introduces Foxie.

__2026-03-13_225220.png

Foxie resides in the Cove camera if that wasn't already obvious. She'll have multiple phases she'll go through before charging at your office, however i don't think staring at her actually stalls her this time. Once she runs away, go to her camera to see the sign saying "IT'S TIME" with an arrow pointing at which direction Foxie is running at. Since yeah, she could attack both. Once you know which direction Foxie is going at, all you have to do is open that door and watch as Foxie peeks out, stare at her until she leaves. If you don't, she'll temporarily disable whichever doors she was running at. The problem with her is that she can take WAY too long to appear and you waste so much time on her. Also i really like Foxie :D, one of my favourite characters from the game.

After Night 2, we get another developer note, honestly if you didn't know already we get developer notes after every night. But i won't be covering them much in this review since i'm actually isn't that interested in them.

Before Night 3, Phone Guy calls again and says the animatronics have become more glitchy. He also says that yesterday he was distracted by his dog, which hit the door. He mentions a new enemy, which is the puppet, says it creeps him the fuck out and says goodbye.

Night 3 introduces Dolly, as previously mentioned.

Honestly, i don't blame the phone guy for saying this thing creeps him out. If i also saw that as a child, i would shit my britches. Thankfully it isn't a music box character.

At some moment, it can make a sound cue that sounds like a laugh, that means it has spawned on either the Bathrooms, Showstage, Dining Room, or Kitchen. Basically the four cameras at the bottom of the map. You'll have to find it on either camera and then hold a button that reads "STOP" in order to make it go away. The problem it brings is that we spent too much time dealing with it that it puts us at risk with the others killing us.

Before Night 4, phone guy calls again and says he doesn't understand what's happening to the animatronics. They all just suddenly broke. He tells about Freddie and says goodbye:

On Night 4, the main man himself, Freddie Fozbear becomes active.

__2026-03-13_225024.png

Freddie is definitely the most hardest threat to deal with by far in this game. And i honestly like that! I like it when fan games give the main mans of their games the hardest mechanic. Anyway, back to Freddie.

Every time, Freddie moved he would laugh. Freddie could only go between 5 cameras. When he laughed, he could either be at the bathrooms, dining room, electronic depot, or kitchen. He makes use of the Garage camera. The funny thing is that the Garage camera had no feed at all and is just a black screen, so how the fuck do we know if Freddie is there or not? By checking the other four cameras he could be at, if he wasn't in them. Then he was definitely at the Garage camera, simply use the "SCAN" button to then shock the absolute living shit out of Freddie and make him scream in pain.

Before Night 5, phone guy says he's leaving the place. He tells us what happened at that party. The lights went out in the building, and all the animatronics went crazy. And when the lights came back on, the birthday boy was nowhere to be found. And no one had ever seen him. Phone guy believes the ghost of the boy is still in this building. He tells us to do what we want to do here and get out.

Night 5 didn't introduce any new threats. Simply being a harder version of Night 4.

After completing Night 5, you get your typical paycheck. Then you notice in the menu... the Overtime night. You click it and it sends you to the Overtime night. Overtime was a harder version of Night 5 but it also added one new threat! That being Jailbird

__2026-03-13_225253.png

By far the easiest threat you need to deal with, whenever you hear her opening the Garage, simply repeatedly flip up the camera to see her peeking out of the front door in your office before disappearing. When she attacks every other character also stops moving. Wasted potential with this character tbh.

After you complete Overtime, you can unlock Debug Mode by pressing C, +, and D at the same time. Debug Mode is basically Custom Night. You also unlocked Aggressive mode when you can turn on to play the entire game again but harder.

And that was NWAF! Honestly a pretty good fan game that i overall really enjoyed playing! One of the FNAF 1 Remakes that actually gives off the nostalgia feeling the original FNAF 1 had. It also has extremely fun, engaging, and fast paced gameplay. And the graphics are just really charming. Only criticisms i have is the annoying "move repeatedly while pressing the light button at the same time to register every click" and Jailbird being genuinely wasted. Otherwise it gets a solid 8.5/10!
